Knowing how incredible the color was at Long Pond, I hoped to get a nice star trail image here, but the clouds were too thick in this area (even though it was only a few miles from the previous image's location, where the stars were visible.) There was enough moonlight filtering through to take this two minute exposure. The long duration gave the surface of the pond a beautiful, almost metallic appearance, and gave a soft look to the fog streaming around the small evergreen-covered hill above the colorful foliage.
