One of the best ways to enjoy the autumn in New England is to get off the highways and spend some time driving dirt roads in rural areas. You don't need a four-wheel drive vehicle for this -- though you often do in the winter and spring! :)

It really doesn't matter much what road you choose... you'll enjoy the peace and quiet, the abundant nature, and the way the trees often close in around the road to create "tree tunnels", like the one here.
