Wet Dogwood

Emerald Lake has an interesting climate because of its location. The northwest shore is in a rain shadow caused by adjacent tall mountains, and is thus very dry; the opposite, southeast shore, is much wetter. You can probably tell where this image was taken; these dogwoods were persistently taking root anywhere they could find.
